CREATING CONTENT

Our new studios will foster collaboration and innovation to tell Maine’s stories

FREE AND OPEN ACCESS to accurate, balanced, and objective content is more important than it has ever been, and Maine Public is committed to delivering it.

Producing content of all kinds—news stories, performances, interviews—that speaks directly to a wide variety of listeners and viewers requires up-to-date technology and collaboration.

The architectural vision for the facility renovations is led by Simons Architects of Portland. Scott Simons is renowned for creating innovative, multi-disciplinary, people-centered designs that stimulate imagination and encourage investigation. Producing engaging content is a relationship with three players—content creators, subjects, and the audience.

With new radio studios for Maine Calling, Maine Public Classical, and Maine Public Radio newscasts, as well as a dedicated community engagement space, this facility will allow producers and hosts to engage with our guests as never before.

It is designed for our needs of today, with flexibility for growth —and telling our stories well into the future.
